The Story behind Cellmade
WHO
We are delighted to have found a manufacturing partner in the social-economical company Cellmade in Bruges, Belgium. We are working together with a small gifted group of male inmates, who all have sentences between 5 years and a lifetime.
These men are happy with the opportunity to develop their skills even further. Our designs are more complicated than their averages work in the prison workshop.
WHO
Our denim collection currently consists of our Happy bags & Weekend bags + our Crystal Clear cushions designed to Jazz Up your home interior. These designs are made with the use of deadstock denim fabric & recycled or leftover leather.
WHY
When looking for a local manufacturer, we quickly fell in love with the idea of cooperating with the prison and got in contact with Cellmade.
It is rewarding being a part of the rehabilitation of the inmates along with the satisfying of seeing my designs coming to life!
DREAM TEAM
I very much enjoyed giving a workshop on the production flow of our
Happy Bags in the prison & meeting the guys in person.
I hope to be able to further expand our collaboration in the future.
